Regalia Bay
Overview:
Regalia Bay is a luxury estate located at 88 Wong Ma Kok Road on the Stanley Peninsula. The estate is comprised of 139 houses divided into two phases. Phase 1 consists of 84 houses and Phase 2 has 55 houses. Regalia Bay was jointly developed by Regal Hotels Group and China Overseas in 2003. Houses with gardens range in size from 4,200 sq ft. to 11,000 sq ft. Most homes contain three stories and a driveway.
Clubhouse:
The Regalia Bay clubhouse contains function rooms, a 40m rooftop swimming pool, a jacuzzi, gym, sauna, sun desk and children's play room.
Analysis:
Pros:
Although high prices are always difficult to justify, if buyers are searching for a luxury home with an panoramic sea view then Regalia Bay may just be worth it. The estate was developed so that each floor of each house had a direct line of sight to the sea. Furthermore, each unit of Regalia Bay is an individual townhouse which provides a level of privacy and tranquility that is rare to find in Hong Kong. The air quality in its location is very good for Hong Kong standards and each townhouse also has its own garden - a very rare feature for any Hong Kong home. St. Stephen's College, a well-known secondary school is also right down the road.
Cons:
The price is sky-high obviously. Furthermore, for its listing prices, Regalia Bay offers a disappointingly small and ordinary clubhouse with few facilities. Regalia Bay's deep position within the Stanley peninsula causes further transportation complications. Residents who do not own personal vehicles will find reaching locations beyond Stanley to be very time consuming. Regalia Bay is also further from the Stanley Market and Waterfront than other residences in the area. Dining and shopping is not very convenient.
